1. RC1 is buggy during playback and crashed several times. This usually happened during fast forwards using the slider or when 'unclean' (incompleted, old, possibly corrupted, etc) movies were played. VLC requested after each crash to upload info which I allowed.
2. Moving around using the slider.
a. the long delay before the movie starts playing again after releasing the slider, experienced in 0.9 from prior versions, is solved.
b. when moving the slider 'green' interference flashes are displayed.
c. a lot of times when the slider is moved, it will stay in the new, advanced position, but the movie starts playing from the prior location again, as if the slider was not moved.
d. various times, during slider moves, VLC crashes (see 1).
3. Playback speed slider (opens up when the speed indicator test is clicked):
The slider has no numbers and is hard to use as a result of this.
it took me a long while to understand that the '1x' is actually a button I could press. I would recommend emphasising that it is a button with a rounded rectangle around it.
after clicking the 1x button the slider stays open. Recommend closing it after a click, this is usually what you would like to happen most of the time.
4. The sound/volume slider is still difficult to use. The resolution is way to coarse at the lower end.
Overall look like a lot of work was invested but I don't think this version deserves an RC1 designator. It's still way to buggy. v0.9x never crashed on any of my systems while the RC1 does consistently.
Thanks
