Compile VLC 0.9.9 Debian Etch

Postby Shai-Hulud » 19 May 2009 14:56

Hey all, I successfully compile 0.9.9 on Debian Etch, however it does not appear that VLC is using accelerated video. I don't know VLC well enough to be able to determine with certainty what video output VLC is using but it's cpu utilization is high hovering around 65%. In contrast, VLC 0.8.6 available in the Debian repositories offers much much better performance playing the same videos.

I've checked the settings and VLC is set to use accelerated output but something is just not right.

Most probably you did not build the XVideo support.
