Converting a .wmv video for an mp3 player...???

I have a Sony mp3 player (E series if that matters), and a video I made using Windows Movie Maker. It is a .wmv file, which is compatible with the mp3 player, so it says, but it won't work on it. I tried clicking on "Media", then "Convert/Save..." to change the audio and video codec, and it never changes anything or seems to do anything at all. Could someone tell me if there's a protocol for this? I'm obviously not understanding something!

That helped a lot! Thanks. Only thing now is the sound doesn' work... And on the mp3 player, it says the file is damaged. Hmm...

You could try rewriting the MP4 file (with some like MP4Box/YAMB).

Avidemux might work also for converting to an iPod-compatible format. Open the file/original file in Avidemux, go to "Auto >> IPOD (mpeg4)" and press "OK". Then press "Save" and save as e.g. "OUT.mp4".
