Can I make playback auto-start with deinterlace set to blend

Postby Cygnus333 » 29 Apr 2009 06:02

First of all, my apologies if the answer to this question is already posted, I did look. How do I make playback automatically start with deinterlace set to blend? After poking around in the preferences I am not able to figure this out but I believe I have made this happen with a previous version of VLC. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and VLC media player 0.9.9.

Thanks in advance,
Cygnus333 (Chris).

Hi,
Figured this out today. Preferences (All) > Video > Filters (Tick deinterlace here to enable) > deinterlace (to select method)

Thanks for the info. I don't think this worked for me. When I start a video and check to see if it's playing with deinterlace-blend, disable has the selection blue dot next to it. The settings you recommended were saved, I checked after exiting VLC and running it again. Deinterlace was still checked and blend selected in the preferences. What's strange is that I made another change, I turned off sub-titles and I don't see them anymore. It's odd that one setting would stick and the other didn't.

Chris.

My old version of VLC running on XP would remember the de-interlace settings just as you would expect. Had some problems with .mkv files so I downloaded the latest version to see if this helped, only to find that my preferred de-interlace setting (Bob) would not stick. Changed it in Preferences->Video->Filters->Deinterlace and saved it, but it makes no difference. Next time a video plays, the de-interlace is back to disable. (Still says Bob in Preferences...) This is getting extremely annoying. Not sure if its connected but I'm running on Vista, now. Didn't get to try the other version/OS combinations.

Brilliant. That worked a treat. 10/10 for the advice. (Not quite 10/10 for the mysterious distinction between Video Filter Modules and Video Output Filter Modules, both of which seem to be related to video post-processing...)

Thanks again.
