Windows 7/Tuner/64bit ARGH!!!

Postby cloak33 » 27 Apr 2009 01:21

Hey guys. Got Win7 installed and I'm trying to get the tuner to play via VLC. Will this work in 64bit? I've got an ATI 650 Pro and a Pinnacle HD Stick Pro, I can't get neither to play. The audio plays fine, but I cannot get the video to play.

This is a fresh install. Any ideas as to what I can do?

Thanks

P.S. I have an nvidia 8800GT if that makes a diff.

So you can play for example AVI files without any issues, but your tuners won't give any video?

That is correct. I can open up an AVI and have it play locally without any issues. It's only from the tuner that I cannot get video. (The tuner does work though as it does work in Windows 7 Media Center)

Thanks

You try to open them from Capture mode: DVB DirectShow?

I have a very similar problem with Windows 7 64bit and an ATI 650 TV tuner.

It displays video on the first 3 uses (seriously, three, or thirty minutes of playing, whichever occurs first) as in when I tune to stream TV with either 0.9.9 or 0.8.6f.
But after the third tuning (or around 30 minutes) (because of the need to change bitrate/channel) video stops displaying, but the audio keeps on playing in the background.

Video/Audio work fine in WMC.

The only solution I've found is to restart the machine.

Problem doesn't occur in the same setup under Windows 7 32bit.

And no, I did not try DVB directshow as it doesn't apply to NTSC tunning.

VLC message log shows some errors when the picture vanishes? Have you tried VLC 1.0.0 nightly builds?
