Hearing problems

I have a bit of a problem, ever since an early age I've been losing my hearing in my left ear... I'm to the point where I cant make anything out though that ear... just the fact that there is indeed sound coming. Luckily my right ear is perfect.

Well, that's enough back story. Does anyone know of a way to make either VLC or windows make stereo sound Mono? Listening to stereo through headphones is a nightmare otherwise.

Yes, Audio > Audio Devices > Mono. Does that solve it?

Also, via volume control, you can mute one earphone and let all the sound come from the other one.
