need to upgrade back to .98a? Where can I get?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

need to upgrade back to .98a? Where can I get?

Postby mstar » 15 Apr 2009 20:02

I have been using your player for 3 years with bliss and I have never had so many problems doing the basics as in .99. Constant crashes, many bugs. I know you are busy working on all the advanced features which the coders love to do and I congratulate on that yet, the simpliest things are starting to break! Hanging menus trying to turn subs on or off. Dr. Watson welcoming me on startup. IN your hurry to get to 1.0, could you please leave older versions on your site so we can at least have what we use to, as in functionality (as in watching a basic .avi file)? I write this after hours of irritation over the last couple days. The version before .98 is where I ever started to see problems with this player. Prior to that, it really was just tiny, minor bugs (no problem). but this is getting out of control. It was simply the best player out there. Slow down. DO THINGS RIGHT!!! The only thing unusual on this q6600/4 gig memory asus P5Kse is I am using the /3GB switch to make use of the usable extra memory I have in this xpSP2 system.

ISlow down. DO THINGS RIGHT!!!
On a sidenote there is no need to use that tone.
You might be unhappy but keep in mind that VLC is a free software made by people who are taking on their free time to bring this to us for FREE.

Report bugs and problems if you find any, but to shout and scream won't help at all in any way.

Also before downgrading you might want to try deleting VLC's preferences and cache files (search forum for how). And, as Lotesdelere said, give more detail on bugs etc. - "Constant crashes, many bugs" is not very constructive feedback.

Cheers, Arite.
