VLC player virustotal scans

Postby interested » 15 Apr 2009 03:22

Why is it that every time i download a new vlc player release and then scan it for viruses on virustotal, it usually gets one to four hits?

Here is a scan from the latest version "vlc-0.9.9-win32.exe" that i just downloaded from the "secured servers LLC mirror"

It also seems to vary depending one which mirror i download vlc player from.

Maybe they are always false positives, however it would be nice to one day not get any hits when i scan vlc player in virustotal.

Maybe you shouldn't use those broken Antiviruses...
Antiy-AVL seems pretty broken to me...

When you download stuffs from different mirrors, you can check the md5.
