Decrease in picture quality after downloading a new version

Postby mikidikikidi » 31 Mar 2009 23:40

I just downloaded a new version (0.9.8a) and the picture seems worse when playing a video. My last version was downloaded off the videolan site about a year ago.

The picture probably isn't "worse" literally speaking, maybe just more "honest". Like I see more artifacts and it just seems crummier/more unclear generally speaking. Maybe some filter that used to be on by default but isn't anymore? I'm playing a normal quality (512x384) Xvid video file.

Thanks.

Try DirectX output module.

Do you mean the Output thing in general video settings in Preferences? It was on Default and I changed it to DirectX video output and the video disappeared completely (audio was fine).

You have a graphic driver issue.
