vlc player showing error while opening any wmv file

While opening any wmv file VLC PLAYER 1.0.0 showing errors and closing down , in one word it cannot play any wmv file. WHY? But the older versions of VLC PLAYER 0.8.6 can easily open and playing them , then it doesnot shows any errors.New versions would be better than the older versions but it is going opposite , i am seeing that new versions have more bugs than the older versions.DO SOMETHING

What 1.0.0 build you mean? There isn't any official 1.0.0 release. Only nightlies and some test builds.
