Yes, to the extend that the codec format is correctly decoded .I am running the latest version of VLC and OSX on a mac with the HAL Audio Unit module selected. I'm running everything through an M-Audio USB interface externally which the manufacturer claims will support up to 24/96. So in theory I should be able to play back audio with no down sampling as long as my hardware interface doesn't down sample it.
