I love VLC but I must say I have always had a problem with subtitles. They're.. Well, generally unreadable. No matter what I try I can't get them to look good. (Supposing I can get them to work at all. =P)

Now from what I can gather, VLC is obtaining the font and font width / height from the subtitles file itself.
What I am asking for is that we have a subtitles editor. Something that would pop up with font color / shadow / size / etc options, and an active example that would show on the video. It would look great, having crisp clean white vector text with a drop shadow around it at full screen. (Though I am not sure if Windows has either of those.. Vector / drop shadow. But that doesn't concern me one bit. =P)
