Cant Fullscreen vlc on monitor2

I just updated VLC to 0.9.8a and now I cant fullscreen the application on my second monitor. I run duel monitor set up in duel-view mode. Previously I could run videos on any screen in Fullscreen, but this new version always maximizes to monitor one.

Known issue. Fixed in upcoming 0.9.9 and 1.0.0 releases.

It doesn't seem to have been fixed in those upcoming releases. Both myself and Little have tried 1.0.0 from the nightlies (well, j-b's build since the nightlies aren't working), and both of us have confirmed that the bug still exists in that 1.0.0 build.
