take 3 minutes to start play..

Hi..
I have VLC 0.9.4 version, and if I open "open network" and in type in http://radio88.nu/listen.asx or some other IP adress, to my own audio stream,
it take more then 3 minutes before VLC player start play. Compair it to Winamp or Windows Mediaplayer, take only 4 seconds to start!
Why is VLC taking so long to start play?

Os is Xp or Vista and Windows server 2003, same problem.

Even worse... 2 minutes and 30 seconds before it start buffring, and 15 sconds when buffer is filled...

You give up, and you think some thing is wrong...but it always play if you have the nerve to wait..Winamp did it in 6 seconds... It start buffering direct when I klick the button.

No, I didn't first. But then I try to find anything who can have an effect on the VLC player, but no...

Still the same 160 seconds before start to buffering. The old player, 0.8.06 janus version, start like winamp in some few seconds.
I also test a new version with 0.9.8a Grishenko, but same problem.
I need the new versions functions, but the old versions rapid respons.

I use Windows Media audio 9.1

I try to play AAC + from my server here in my lab, and it start in 2 seconds. It's WMA having the problem.

The time is spent, I presume, buffering the MMS stream (i.e. parsing the ASX file is not a problem):

This looks a lot like a network problem. In that case, not much VLC can do about this.

Not so.

VLC 9.9a for mac doesn't have this problem.
9.8a and 9.9 for win32 as well as the nightly I tested (vlc-1.0.0-pre2-20090423-2203-win32) all have this problem.
