Some .flv files color alignment incorrect.

Some .flv files color alignment incorrect.

Postby jnnnnn » 06 Feb 2009 13:15

Hello,

I have a problem I have demonstrated under XP, Vista and Ubuntu 8.10: Some .flv files (downloaded from Youtube) don't play correctly. The adobe flash player plugin plays them fine.

The exact problem seems to be that the different colour channels are horizontally offset by different amounts. The result is that the images look mostly grey with weird colours in some areas. It is possible to tell that the colours are correct, just in the wrong place.

An example video is http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_ ... CkZ5bMkja2 .

I am using vlc 0.9.4 compiled with gcc 4.3.2 (Ubuntu 4.3.2-1ubuntu10) and vlc 0.9.4 on Windows.

Is this VLC's fault or are the videos incorrectly encoded (and the flash player just happens to handle the errors better)?

Melbourne
