relate display to video card?

Postby phileuro » 05 Feb 2009 23:38

We want to control multiple monitors and using --directx-device=\\.\DISPLAYx is great, but, how do we know what physical display is display1 or display2 etc?

For example, I have 2 monitors attached to my machine, but they are - according to vlc - display1 and display3. Presumably because they are plugged into different 2-monitor video cards. I guess the output that is not used on one of the cards is display2.
Is there any way - programatically - to know what is what? We are remote controlling these machines.

Thanks for any tips you may be able to provide!

I think this is defined by Windows and monitor identification panel in Control Panel.
