Recording from Multiple Sources

Postby jamin.thorns » 01 Feb 2009 22:33

I've been using VLC for a LONG while now and am pretty familiar with all that it can do. One thing I can't seem to figure out is a way to stream multiple inputs. See, VLC detects both my microphone and my webcam perfectly but also seperately. If I wanted to record either only audio or only video, I'm perfectly fine. Except whenever I want to record both, I'm pretty much screwed. I've tried running two instances (which does work) but getting everything in sync is just too much work. What I'm wondering is if there is a simple (non-CLI) way to make VLC two record from two sources at the same time and mush them together into a single file while converting. If it helps, I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 on an Acer Aspire One. Thanks in advance!

Slave inputs can do that, as long as the inputs have coherent timing.
