not playing asx stream

And there are NO logs, that I can find. please help. paul

Tools -> Messages
Then in the bottom left corner set Verbosity Level to 2 and try again to open your URL.

that worked thank you so much. My other stations are pls and that wont play Level 0 or level 2.

Also when I set it to Level 2, after its closed it reverts back to Level 0.

You can change that in the preferences. Go to:
Tools >> Preferences... >> (Select "All" for "Show settings") >> Interface

And raise "Verbosity" to "2". Press "Save" and restart VLC.

thanks. Without changing to Level 2, it now plays asx in firefox, despite Win Exp tools folder options file types asx is set to open with vlc.exe AND one of my pls opens via VLC, but another pls opens firefox and VLC and plays in VLC. Firefox tools options applications pls, podcast, and web feed are all set to vlc, there is no asx in there.

that site with asx that plays in firefox, that same station has a m3u that also plays in firefox.
