Encoding performance is still poor, so it might not be a good choice for high volume applications.

The page is unusably obsolete

It fails to address:

# Theora 1.0 release
# Theora support in VLC (what lib version, encode also?)
# Future plans for 1.1
# Firefox 3.1 <video>
# Legal superiority to H264 and other junk
