Full screen on extended panel

Postby moomba » 08 Jan 2009 21:17

Hie

I found a little bug in the new VLC that didn't exist in previous releases.

When using the "extended panel" on windows (I don't know if it's the exact term, I mean when your extend your current screen to an other on the right on a second screen), if you wanted to show a video on the extended panel, you just had to move the VLC windows on the second panel, clic play, and then select full screen mode (by double clicking on the video). The video was next displayed full screen on the second panel.

In the new version, when double cliking to go full screen mode, the video disapear from the second screen, and is displayed full screen on the main screen, even if the VLC window was on the second screen.

Do you have any idea about this ? Maybe I just do wrong, but then what shall be done in this new version to watch a DVD on my second screen ? :D

I am having the same problem. In fact, choosing the default display for DirectX as my DISPLAY2, which used to automatically put the video window on the correct screen on my old box, doesn't work for me at all. I can manually drag it over, but the next video in the playlist defaults back to DISPLAY1 no matter what I do.

I just installed on a new, much faster computer with the same video card that was in my old one. The old OS was XP Media Center SP3 and the new OS is Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I'm using 0.9.8a

Anyone have any ideas?

For information, it doesn't work with the version 0.9.8a, but it perfectly work on my old portable version 0.8.6a

I verify that this bug exists and it is really, really annoying. I am going back to Kmplayer until the VLC team has sorted this.

This bug is only in 0.9.8a on Windows. 0.9.6 doesn't have it nor the 0.9.9-devel versions.

Could anyone tell me where I could inform the VLC programmers about this ? Do I need to post in a particular place on this forum ? :?:

Hi i got a "solution" it works for me

What you have to do:

Press CTRL+E (in the vlcplayer screen)
go to the second tab: Video Effects
and then to the tab Vout/Overlap
there you have to select Clone on 2 screens
hit close

Now you have two screens when you play a video, now the only thing you have to do is put the clone on the extended screen (second screen) double click on it and there is your full screen :D
*ps sorry for my bad English
