multi-part matroska chaptering.

multi-part matroska chaptering.

Postby plasmacutter » 04 Jan 2009 00:39

I've run across a series of matroska encodes which were released using haali's "chapters" to do this:
The OP is encoded separately but will be played on each file as if it is encoded there
If played using default settings for VLC, it will cause the first minute of each file to play in an endless loop. I had to disable chaptering before it would play the main streams properly.

I'm interested in whether you guys want to:

a - kludge something together for this rather obtuse case (and need the files to examine)
b - change the default config
c - include this issue in a faq somewhere?

Thanks for all your work so far, and i'm out here if you do want those samples.

a) this needs some development time, and I am not sure anyone is working on that since mkv is a mess.
b) why not...
c) definitively.

isn't it always!

then again any quickly evolving open project tends to grow both organically and quickly.
