"Hey, I'm trying to turn on the airconditioning of my car, but it does not work. The car manual says that this is an option that is not installed in my car. What do I do now???????"

At the top of every forum page is a stickey, asking people to please search the forum first.

If you select Search, type in:
no suitable decoder WMV3

Select "Search for all terms", you will get 21 threads on this.

This particular topic keeps coming up, and for some reason people don't read the Features List for VLC, or do the Search that's recommended.

The features list is called out prominently on the main VLC page, and it clearly shows Yes for WMV3 under Windows, but No under other OS'. It's a well-maintained list -- the devs are good about adding notes on features/functionality.

missmacintox: This isn't really a comment aimed towards you, just can't figure out how to get people to use the resources (Features List and forum search engine) that are available.
