Digital sound output.

Postby Claubk » 19 Dec 2008 20:05

What sound settings do I need to use to get the digital feed from my pc to my reciever. The sound is lagging when I choose s/pdif? (sound set up via coax cable, worked before upgrade)

I upgraded my sound drivers (sb live) and VLC ,and prior to that I had no trouble getting the feed through, but I had help witht the VLC settings, and now ive forgotten what I did to make it work. Maybe using win32wave output, but only chosing that didnt work, so what else do I need to do. When playing a movie, I still get the sound feed through to my reciever, soundcard set up to digital only, but im still able to choose stereo menues on the reciever, which I shouldnt be if the thing worked. Then I would only get dolby or DTS menues available. So whats wrong with my settings? Right now, ive got the win32wave set as ouput, but still getting stereo feed, which sucks for a costly 5.1 surround setup.

Help.

Your movie also has AC3/DTS soundtrack?
http://www.diatonis.com/downloads_dts_ac3.html
Structure of Ambient Life - Dolby Digital AC-3 File from there works OK?

Hi,
I am also getting the same problem. I hired a new 4.1 surround system, which is supported by my motherboard.
But when I am viewing DVDs with 5.1 channel, only stereo and mono mode is working. If I choose 5.1 channel, no sound is generated.

Please Help.

Regards,
KAAKOO

kaakoo: could you open Tools -> Messages... (set Verbosity to 2) before starting the playback and paste messages here after playback has started.
