Playlist order

Postby wubrgamer » 21 Dec 2008 21:19

I'm just going to describe what's happening as clearly as I can, and I'll elaborate if need be, I'm just looking for some resolution here.

What I do: Add mp3 tracks 1 through 12 in order from Finder (file browser) into the playlist browser/window in VLC. The tracks are added in order. I HAVE NOT PRESSED PLAY YET. I reorder a few tracks, because I want to hear track 3 first, then 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. I PRESS PLAY, track 3 begins to play. After track 3 is done, track 4 begins, skipping tracks 1 and 2.

What's going wrong?:
What I expect to happen: Track 3 will play, then track 1, then 2, then 4 and so on.
What VLC does: VLC plays tracks in order, regardless of the position in the playlist.

(Diagram)
PLAYLIST
----
  • Track 3
  • Track 1
  • Track 2
  • Track 4
  • Track 5
  • Track 6
  • Track 7
  • Track 8
  • Track 9
  • Track 10
  • Track 11
  • Track 12
What I SHOULD be doing: (You fill this part in please!)

anybody have any ideas?

I hate bumping posts like this...but I use this software to DJ up songs...

and I really don't want to have to switch to something else, I just love VLC too much for that!!!

I have similar playlist issues. My current issue is, when I start a random playlist, the first few items played are improperly labelled on the screen, however, on the bar at the top of VLC is shows the proper track name.
