Newbie: please help

Postby Sixbanger » 12 Dec 2008 13:30

hi,
I just downloaded VLC because windows media player wont play "dark knight". However, I downloaded VLC it works but the sound is off. Meaning, when the actors go to talk you cant hear them. You can only hear music in the background. Tried to do an update but error occurred.

What did you try to update? From what version to what version? What error did you get? Which VLC version are you using? Are you trying to play a DVD, a divx file or what?

The version is vlc-.9.8a-win32. Im trying to play a DVD and like I said the actors voices arent heard at all. When I go to see if there are any updates it says "an error occured while checking for updates" no details.

Well, you should try to change the audio device.
