"overflow in spectral RLE"

Postby nono240 » 06 Dec 2008 13:38

Hi there !

FOA, thank you for reading. I'm using vlc-nox (0.8.6a) from my debian-etch, and I have some issue with some radio streams.
Some plays right, but others output no sounds, only warnings, while playing perfectly on WIN32 vlc:

nonobox:/home/nono# vlc "mms://stream.mosaiquefm.net/mosaique64k"
VLC media player 0.8.6a Janus
status change: ( new input: mms://stream.mosaiquefm.net/mosaique64k )
status change: ( audio volume: 256 )
status change: ( play state: 1 )
[00000270] access_mms access: selecting stream[0x1] audio (15 kb/s)
[00000270] access_mms access: connection successful

Is it due to debian policy removing some codecs ?

You're using a very old vlc. I suggest using lenny or sid if you want to do multimedia stuff.

the messages not starting by [0001234] access/codec/... : are usually not from VLC but one of the library it uses. So it can be harder to debug

Also you should add -vvv to your command line to have more debug

Yep, I see... But upgrading to lenny/sid is'nt aso easy as doing "apt-get upgrade" on my NSLU-2
