vlc 0.9.6 doesnt remember last opened folder :(

Ive installed vlc 0.9.6 on my server running windows vista, and this version and the version before 0.9.4 both do not remember the last folder opened. This is a annoying bug. Any ideas for a workaround, or when this will be fixed?

Use "Advanced File Open": it does remember the last local directory used. But unfortunately this is still a problem for me because "Advanced File Open" doesn't seem to see any network shares unless they're mapped to the system as network drives...

this isnt from a network share. This is from a local drive. IE
im runnign vlc of d:\ and im accessing E:\ and its not remembering the path. Older version used to work fine. So this was introduced in 0.9.x version of vlc.

0.9.x uses different default GUI engine, that is why things have changed.
