RTP reordering missing in 0.9.4

Postby Loonababe » 31 Oct 2008 13:03

Hello,

until recently I've been using VLC 0.8.6i (Janus), mostly to watch TS streams that are streamed over my LAN.
Because the TS packets don't arrive in the correct order I've been using the RTP Reordering function in VLC.

Now I've switched to VLC 0.9.4 (Grishenko) and this option is somehow missing in settings->access modules.
In fact, RTP is totally missing in the settings menu. How come?

Is there a way to still use the newest version and have the rtp reordering?

Thx.

RTP re-ordering is always on in 0.9.x.

I also want to know the info. about reordering.

By the way, which part or function in the source code implements RTP reordering? I only find channel reordering.

Thx for the answers so far... i was just wondering if I could set the time for the rtp reordering manually.

It was set to 300ms in vlc 0.8.6, but I had to change it to 1000.

Or what's the command line parameter for this option in the newest version? it was rtp-late before, but that doesn't seem to work anymore :?

Unfortunately, you cannot tweak re-ordering delay in the 0.9.*. As for 1.0.* we're moving to automated jitter estimation.

That's really bad news!
Guess I'll just wait for the newest version then...

Just one more question... how long will it take until version 1.0.* is released?
I really need the RTP reordering and from the other posts in the forum I assume I'm not the only one:-)

Hello?
Is there any update on the release date of the 1.0.0 version.
I really need the rtp reordering... :-(

Well then you better test the nightly builds to make sure 1.0 wil eventually work...
