forcing a certain codec

Postby satguyjim » 05 Nov 2008 03:29

I am using the latest version of VLC (0.9.4) and it is working well but need to be able to select a certain codec when playing back certain videos. I am trying to use Elecard Direct Show codec for MPEG2 but it shows mpgv as the codec info. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Arite

No. VLC uses it's own codecs not DirectShow ones (only exception is e.g. DMO for some WMA/WMV codecs).
