Can someone please help me out here? I'm totally CONFUSED!

Can someone please help me out here? I'm totally CONFUSED!

VLC is seriously pissing me off. I can't find out how anything works with this program. I can't find any tutorials whatsoever.

The 2 things I am trying to do is apply a noise filter similar to the "film effect", and deinterlace 1 of my videos.

I searched everywhere and found nothing that applied a noise effect, and I'd expect VLC player to have something as simple as this since most decoders have this option.

Second I went under Prefs>Video>Filters> And I applied the deinterlace filter and set it to Bob; nothing happend video is still interlaced to hell and back. I try ever other deinterlace option and still no good.

Can someone please help me out here? If VLC player can't do something as simple as this I'm going to have to go back to FFDshow.

Well I figured out the deinterlacing problem. It had to do with my Nvidia cards "Inverse Telecine" feature. I turned it off then turned it back on and it solved the problem.
