Postion of vlc

I have a major annoyance problem with the position VLC opens in. It always open from the middle of the screen the controls are always off the bottom the screeen. I always have to drag the window up for the interface to appear so as to set the volume or choose the time settings. Its very tedious. especially those large files that even scale the whole screen tat finding the controls are so hard becos i cannot even reach the top bar for dragging easily. I suggest that the opened window be set span down form the top of the screen so that the controls are available for use immediately. thanks!!
