controlling playlist from a remote machine

Postby emmevi » 22 Oct 2008 10:12

Good morning

(please forgive my newbie questions...)

I would like to have VLC running on one machine playing some videos from a local playlist
I would like to control the playlist from a remote machine sending over new content as well as new playlists

I gave the HTTP interface but it does not seem to work as expected, or either I did not find enough documentation to accomplish the task

I have a few questions:
Can I change the playlist while VLC is running ?
Is there any Utility to do this from a remote machine (I found something but just for MAC OS) ?
Where can I find further documentation on this?

Many thanks
best regards
Mirko

You really should use http or rc interface. For http, you have to set the .hosts files
