always output spdif?

Postby wireman121 » 19 Oct 2008 21:42

I have finally successfully got the surround of a DVD to output through the SPDIF, but is there a way to get regular 2-channel audio files, or video files to output through the SPDIF also?

I'm trying to make a PC capable of playing video on my TV and always outputting the audio through spdif to my receiver, but it seems to only allow it when its a 5.1 track

If you have Use S/PDIF when available selected from VLC, then there is nothing more you can do from VLC side. Soundcard control panel might have options related to this.
