default screen size problem

Postby pontypool » 01 Aug 2008 10:22

Whenever I open a video by default the viewing screen is small.. This isn't really a problem because I can just use my mouse to expand it. But when I put videos in a playlist I notice that the next video in the playlist will open up in a shrunk window. Then I have to get up and expand it again with my mouse. Is it possible to make all new videos by default open up in a specific size? or at least open up in the same size as the currently playing video?

You can choose resolution.

issue might also be related to wXwidget settings, so resetting VLC settings might help.

its still a bit of guess work isnt it. because how wide is -1 ? what should i change it to so it fits the width of my monitor? wouldnt it just be easier if you could set a default resolution size.

it doesnt even appear to do anything if i decrease from -1 to -2 , 3 ,4 etc but it goes smaller if i increase the number beyond 0
so 1 ,2,3

width, height and coordinates are defined as pixels. For example DVD resolution is something like 720x480, so small numbers like 1, 2 or 3 will give you VERY SMALL video.

-1 is negative number, dimensions can't be negative values, so in many cases negative values have special meaning. -1 means that VLC uses same resolution that video currently playing has.
