Near to impossible, the problem is not much the code, but the linking...
VS doesn't follow the norms C99, C++, and I don't even speak of embedded ASM...

And contribs would be also hard to compile with Visual Studio. AFAIK debugging doesn't work very well if you mix dlls compiled with Visual Studio and Cygwin+MingW. Providing easy compile environment is near impossible because Cygwin+MingW don't get enough universal love and because of that there are usually many common problems that frustrate people. Like git.exe broken, some libs/tools outdated, QT4+w32api etc.
