VLC 0.9.2 video freezing (vista 64bit)

I have been using an older version of VLC on windows Vista ultimate 64bit for many months and have had absolutely no trouble. Yesterday I decided to update VLC to 0.9.2 and have been having alot of troubles with video playback. I have tried multiple videos and formats and every single time the video randomly goes white while the sound is still playing. After about 15-30 seconds the video returns to normal for a while then it does it again. Would appreciate any assistance.

Just a few more observations I have made of the problem. It seems to happen a lot more often when you rewind/fast forward and skip using the video seek bar. Also it dosent always freeze in the same place of the video, its almost random.

Some video have freezing issue when rewinding. Specially packet bitstream DivX/XviD AVI files.

Now works fine running the last release of version 8!
