Why VLC never use the TS.c mux module?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Why VLC never use the TS.c mux module?

Postby Tubo_catodico » 07 Oct 2008 11:25

Hi all. I'm trying to mod the source code of VLC, because i need to transport some private data in the Transport Stream packet. So i studied the mux module TS.c and the demux module TS.c (same name) to understand how VLC implements the Transport Stream standard. My problem is that the mux module TS.c seems not used by VLC (and so i can't put my data in the packet), moreover the demux works well. I make a simple function (located in the "open" callback of this mux module) that create a log file in c:\incoming. Well that log is never created, so i think that the mux module is never used. To do this test i used the following sintax:

vlc "F:\video.avi" --sout "#standard{access=udp,mux=ts,dst=127.0.0.1:1234}"

Is the same if i use a video.ts file. I really need help, thank you all.

If you want an answer to your question, just be specific and precise. Don't use Private Messages.

You should read VLCs debug/messages output.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
