MInimize to tray and dual screens.

Postby BoggyP » 05 Oct 2008 07:57

I can't minimize to tray unless i disable my secondary screen. Is there a reason why?

I have windows xp, radion 9250 card running both screens and I'm using UltraMon to have a taskbar on the other screen as well as manage wallpaper and other stuff.

It has no error message. When i click it the tray icon or right click it and tell it to "hide..." it brings it into focus.

Yes, first click brings to focus if not under focys, second hides it.

no i mean like it does that no matter how many times i click it.

Is there a reason why 2 screens would conflict with it's ability to goto tray

Tools -> Messages... (set Verbosity to 2) and then do the hide thing and check if the message log shows any errors on warnings related to that.

Does it work if you disable UltraMon? (but keep both desktops)

There probably is. If you could contact UltraMon devs and ask them from some code help (I am guessing it is just a small change that is required), we could fix this in 1.0.0

The guy that develops Ultramon seems sufficiently approachable, although probably not the fastest developer out there... As official VLC reps., you may be more successful in drawing his attention to this issue.

I'm not sure why VLC would have problems with the buttons added by UltraMon
I can't understand this either.

could somebody please try the vlc build at http://www.savefile.com/projects/808707674 to check if the hide/show works with the ultramon buttons enabled?
