0.9.4 breaking vol/mute media buttons

Postby xichael » 26 Sep 2008 09:32

[just edited subject title -- this was originally referring to 0.9.2]

When VLC is in a window (as opposed to full screen), and has focus, my volume/mute media buttons are rendered useless.

This is particularly annoying, because the first thing I usually do upon opening a video is adjust the volume.

Will this be getting fixed anytime soon?

This is a known issue and a bug has been filed. I do hope the devs fix this in the upcoming bugfix release. I worry they might see it as being "unimportant".

There are a lot of people with multimedia keyboards out there.

I might be able to fix this, but I am not 100% sure if QT4 wineventfilter will fix this. Skins2 module doesn't have this issue.

That would be neat.

This issue is still present in 0.9.4 (just edited the title accordingly)... What are the prospects of this being resolved?

Did you guys ever find a Windows developer?... I wish I could help.

No, we didn't, and yes, we have a kind of fix, IIRC.

It should be solved but not in 0.9.4.
