Fullscreen Controller

Postby hfswjyr » 18 Sep 2008 10:59

Good to see VLC now has a fullscreen controller!

However, is it possible to make the controller only appear when the mouse hits the bottom of the screen? At the moment, the controller is far too sensitive for me, and even when I do not physically move the mouse, the controller will pop up because it 'sensed' a slight movement in the mouse cursor.

I also support the idea of displaying the video TIME somewhere on the fullscreen controller, so we don't have to come out of full screen to check the progress.

Thanks.

Those features aren't implemented currently. If you feel like doing a little coding, the fullscreen controller option shouldn't be hard to add. Else please file a feature request (make sure that it hasn't already been asked)

About the controller.. is there any way to fix the controller to the screen that is showing the fullscreen content?

I am using 2 screens, a laptop and lcd, and when I run fullscreen on the lcd the controller stays on my laptop in the bottom corner so I have to move it over to the lcd..

I have an issue similar to Glue.

I have a dual monitor setup and the full screen controller appears between the two monitors when going full screen. Unfortunately, due to the orientation of the monitors (top aligned, one higher than the other) half of the full screen controller is missing.

I love that I can drag it where I want to make it functional, but I would love it if it (a) remembered where the full screen controller was placed the last time it was used, or (b) better yet, detected a dual screen setup to begin with and center aligned to the monitor it went full screen to.

I think that if you drag the controller to the screen you want it to be it, it should resize there ... can't guarantee anything though.

Give me a second screen and I'll fix it.

It works to move it to the other screen, but when you start a new clip it returns to its original position. On my computer the original position is half-hidden in the right corner of the laptop screen.

The controller doesnt need to remember the last position, but be fixed to where the fullscreen is displayed

Forgive my noobishness, but when you say controller, you're talking about the bar at the bottom of the screen that lets you control which part of the movie (or whatever you're watching) you'd like to see?

If so, I can't get even get it to show up. I made an account to ask where you find it. If that's not the controller, nothing to see here.

Is Phanes using the latest release of VLC (0.9.2)? Fullscreen controllers should work there.

I wasn't and thank you for pointing it out. I could have sworn I just DL'ed this too. Thank for you the quick response.
