no, in Interface Tab this is the option just below this one you have to disable (should be something like "display control pop up in fullscreen mode", then vlc isn't ugly.me too

YEs and your graphic drivers.The same problem happens to me (every 7 seconds) on a 12.1" wide-screen lapton running Windows XP... but I installed VLC media player on a friend's PC, also running Windows XP. He has an standard 17" TFT screen (non-wide), and the controls only pop up when he moves the mouse (with default settings)... Just wondering if the bug has something to do with the way VLC manages screens...
It is fixed.Same problem. Very annoying. Still not fixed in 0.9.4 (Windows version; on XP).
I need to disable the controls completely.
