error: "cannot find libavcodec.a"

I am configured VLC 0.7.2
./configure -- with-v4l=/dev/video0 -- with-ffmpeg-tree=ffmpeg/ffmpeg-0.4.8
however occurs the following error

"Configure: error: cannot find /usr/local/bin/VLC/vlc-0.7.2/ffmpeg/ffmpeg-0.4.8/libavcodec/libavcodec.a, make sure you compiled libavcodec in ffmpeg/ffmpeg-0.4.8 "
I already configured ffmpeg: (,/configured --enable-pp)

You need to make ffmpeg as well (but not make install it)
Don't use PMs for support questions.
