Thanks for the hint . Haven't noticed the links above. Somehow, it's a bit irritating.I was going to say it still crashes for me too... I downloaded and installed the latest version from the homepage just yesterday and still had the snapshot function crash VLC. However, after clicking the link above on this thread, downloading that exe file (even though it's the same version no.) and installing it (after completely removing my previous installation), it now works just fine, snapshotting as the VLC gods intended!
That is partly why this topic exists:0.8.6i version shows 0.8.6g in the vlc.exe properties. This would be trivial except that the version information is used by Secunia PSI (and possibley other security scanners) to flag executable's with security advisories.
