Equalizer doesn't work

I have voice recording files generated with Muvo and I confirm that vlc eq doesn't work with them

Have you tried nightlies? Does VLC use DMO decoders with those files?

I tried nightlies version 0.9.2 but I still have the same problem
I don't know what is DMO decoders and how verify if vlc uses it

Open file, then Tools -> Messages... and Modules tree and check if there is any DMO text around.

There is not DMO in Modules Tree, but in Messages it says:

equalizer error: rate not supported main error: cannot add user filter equalizer (skipped)

So VLC knows that it can't use equalizer, why is it not disabled?

There might be few bugs here and there. Does it help if you disable 2-pass?

I'm surprised by this, but I still can't get the EQ to function on certain .WAV files. Sure, it works fine on MP3 and WMA files, but I couldn't seem to isolate why these WAV files would affect the EQ not to function. I thought it might have something to do with the file size, the bitrate (16 vs 8 bit), or stereo/mono, but I couldn't determine why this was. Does anyone know what specific limitations might be at play with WAV files and the EQ?

I can't reproduce this. The EQ is working to me with any WAV file I've tried using VLC 2.2.0.

You can't use EQ with S/PDIF pass-through.
