I would definitely love to see APE and MPC support.
APE files don't play in v0.9.2-preview2 (tested on Windows XP only).Already done.

With the same (v0.9.2-preview2 ) version Musepack is supported, but only sv7. It seems, that currently only Foobar2000 supports sv8, but it too superfluous for my daily needs .I would definitely love to see APE and MPC support.APE files don't play in v0.9.2-preview2 (tested on Windows XP only).Already done.
For instance this sample gives no sound at all and VLC crashes after a while:
http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/monkeyaudio/sh3.ape
Sample works with Debian sid nightly. Have you tried the latest nightly with it?For instance this sample gives no sound at all and VLC crashes after a while:

It appeared that MPlayer also can play Musepack sv8 files (at least the Mulder's build from 2008-09-03).I would definitely love to see APE and MPC support.APE files don't play in v0.9.2-preview2 (tested on Windows XP only).Already done.

But it's playing fine in MPlayer and in Goldwave.
Yep I've tried with the nightly and also RC1 build from JB. Both crash when trying to play this file on Windows XP.Sample works with Debian sid nightly. Have you tried the latest nightly with it?

Confirmed with latest nightly build (vlc-0.9.3-git-20080921-0254-win32) and ape files encoded with three versions of MAC, 3.97, 3.99 and 4.01....
All APE files I've tried are crashing VLC.

Because SV8 is not considered as stable upstream. Not MPC SV8 yet. Strange, because it seems that VLC use one and the same library as Mplayer.
Actually, the format is already finalized, as one can see here.Musepack SV8 is still in beta (not that should change the decision to implement it much):
