Anamorphic 16:9 for 4:3 (1024x768) computer resolutions.

I have an old Barco 6500 with 3 DLP chips with 1024x768 resolution. I can control the output to 4:3 or 16:9 from the Barco menu, but the aspect in full screen isn’t right because for the computer, 1024x768 means 4:3. Is it possible to ad a setting on the video tab, in order to say to VLC to resize the picture (in full screen mode) on 4:3 resolutions for anamorphic 16:9 projection?
