problem with sound

Hello,

I installed yeasterday on my windows xp computer your software just to be able to watch a short video on wikipedia. The video showed OK but without any sound.
I tried today to listen to a radio webcast with real-player. I also tried to play mp3 files with with windows media player and audacity. The visualization and the time
indicator advanced in all these applications but not a single sound.

I hope that this post is on the right forum and someone can help me sort out this problem.
