A weird effect in VLC

Postby loninappleton » 03 Jul 2008 23:14

I have some content that gave a weird effect.

The player started the piece ok but then 'paints' green on the screen and no more video.

The green screen of death. :-)

I reinstalled my video drivers and that didn't help.

But when I lowered the resolution slightly from 800x600 to 782 (whatevs) the option just below that,
the content in vlc played. I used the Nvidia software with my card to change the screen rez.

What could cause this? I've never seen the problem before.

VLC version: OVER 9000!!!
Operating System: It's...blue screen
Location: Heaven? No no. What's that other place that starts with an "H"? Oh yes: Home. ^_^

Have you tried a different video output module (Preferences -> (tab) Video -> Output modules -> (drop-menu) DirectX video output, Direct3D video output, ect)?

I've been able to get around the problem by diddling with the screen rez.

But I'll look at the options you mention

Dear With Issues,

Which is the one preferred to solve this and also how can I check for what the default is?
