playing .torrent files in VLC

Postby weir45 » 07 Jul 2008 03:17

I downloaded some tv shows from vuze and I can't get them to play. It's the title of the show, season and episode followed by: HDTV.XviD-XOR.avi.torrent

How can I play this? what if any codec do I need? I can't seem to get any files with the .torrent suffix to play either in VLC or in Quicktime.

Ok. I'm fairly sure that discussion on pirated videos is illegal here.

Have you put the torrent file into a proper torrent client? The .torrent file isn't actually a video, rather a file that enables you to connect to the tracker. I like transmission, but remember kids, don't pirate or you'll get your arse sued ;)
