TV Digital USB Receiver in Brazil

Postby usbtvsaler » 26 Jun 2008 04:47

Hi I´m from Brazil. Does anyone know, how we can use a TV Digital USB Receiver Stick for ISDB-T 1seg with VLC. The chipset is from Asicen. The program bundel is Presto PVR but this PVR only record Streams in a own cryptet format. (would free me from it) We have more than 1Mio Notbook User here and a lot of them would watch TV with a PC and VLC. The instalation CD contend a Windows BDA driver but it does´t work together with VLC without adaption. Please help our nation. For more information: Website - http://www.tv-digital.org

VLC_HELP:
Sorry, but nightly does not work for ISDB-T (Japan and Brazil technology). I select and push play and nothing. An example of attendance would be 515143Khz (GLOBO). I would support to save the videos captured in mpeg pure. Presto! PVR saves a nts file protected. Or someone I could pass the nightly tutorial in how to play and make something appear (ISDB-T - Ausicen usb dongle) ?

So, Any idea? Grateful.

It seems that ISDB-T support might require some extra work. Does Tools -> Messages... say anything when you try to open your BDA device? (I assume your tuner has BDA drivers, not all have).
BDA does not yet support all Digital TV standards that are used in specific regions, such as regions that support the Integrated Services Digital Broadcast (ISDB-T) standard. In these regions, support for BDA is not required. This exemption allows for proprietary Digital TV implementations and is valid until support for the regional Digital TV standard is provided by BDA.

"ATSC support for DVB input" was added in 0.8.6 but I don't know if it works OK.

zedogas: your nightlies playlist is empty when you open VLC? For some reason there is sometimes garbage on playlist that you should remove. Then open Tools -> Messages... then set Verbosity level to 2 and then Media -> Open capture device... and select DVB Directshow as Capture mode and select your settings and press Play and after that copy Message log here.

Thank you for your reply.
I'm really noob on this subject. I hope this excert I got from Internet make some sense to you:

Brazil decides on a Digital Terrestrial TV system
President Luiz Inaciao Lula da Silva signed a decree finally affirming the DTT system for Brazil on Thursday 29th June 2006. The decree names the Japanese ISDB-T system as the basis for the new Brazilian standard called Sistema Brasileiro de Televisao Digital Terrestre (SBTD-T).
Whilst the ISDB-T standard forms the basis for SBTD-T the final system will be adapted for the special requirements of Brazil and will be based on the new MPEG-4, H.264 AVC compression standard and Brazilian Middleware.
The system, like ISDB-T, is also capable of transmitting several low bit rate video programmes to mobile handheld devices whilst at the same time delivering better definition to fixed receivers. The requirement to be able to deliver programmes to mobile devices without having to deal with Telco’s was especially attractive to existing broadcasters. However it is likely in the long run that a more comprehensive mobile standard like DVB-H or MediaFLO will be used to provide users with 30 or more programmes instead of the few available using the ISDB-T single segment system.
In order to reach an agreement, Japan offered Brazil exemption from some of the royalty payments due for the application of its technology as well as the possibility of building a new semiconductor factory. In addition the transition from the existing TV standard PAL-M to SBTD-T will be financed by the Japanese JBIC and the Brazilian development bank BNDES.Brazil will take ten years for the transition to be completed through-out the whole country and it is likely that the first products for the reception of the new Brazilian standard will appear in 12 months time.Brazil is the first country to use the ISDB-T system outside Japan and it expects to work together with Japan on developing and improving the system to better meet its specific requirements.Sources, many including: Tiscali technology, Agencia EFE S.A., Prensa.com, eluniversal.com, Dow Jones, AFP.
Item added: 2nd July 2006

The software I know that works with this USB key it's called PRESTO PVR 7, but unfortunately I've lost my CD while moving to another city (and I lost contact with the original vendor, a previous co-worker). So, no, I don't have any software to capture data unless you point me out some software I can install and get the data you need. Oh, Newsoft (maker of Presto) doesn't sell version 7 neither activation keys or I would probably have bought it from them.
Thank you !

I think the problem is ts demux module (maybe dvbpsi library...).
The pid of PAT, PMT... are diferent on ISDB-Tb on Brazil...
The TS demux module can´t recognize the right pid for programs/video/audio...

With the command:
vlc --ts-extra-pmt=15=0x0211:27,0x0212:17 dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=635250 :dvb-bandwidth=6
I can tune the 1-seg channel with my usb device, but...
I´m on Curitiba and the 1-seg channel of test has black video without audio.
Someone on São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte or Goiania must try...

PS: I used 635250 frequency for channel 41...

I even changed the frequency to 515143Khz (Globo). Unfortunately, I don't understand the other parameters so I could help by changing them.

What u get?
I get a black 320x240 video with no audio...
comand syntaxe:
vlc --ts-extra-pmt=15=0x0211:27,0x0212:17 dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=635250 :dvb-bandwidth=6
0x0211 = pid of video stream
0x0212 = pid od audio stream

27=h264
17=aac

Try frequency=515250

PS: I used the last vlc nightly build.
PS2: I think the pids for video and audio on 1-seg are equal on all channels...

It doesn't show anything. Perhaps it is because I'm using Vlc's windows version ?

All this stuff you guys discuss (streams, pid, pat, etc) is a complete new world for me. All I'm trying to do is to watch tv using my asicen tuner without have to buy another one (since I've lost my serial key and Newsoft doesn't sell Presto 7) :-)

If I can be useful by testing things and getting data while I'm trying to watch my tv, it will be awesome.

I 'm trying to input these parameters via the windows interface and I'll get back to you with some info.

Thanks.

On your post posting.php?mode=quote&f=7&p=157741#pr157321 you get this:

main debug: creating access 'dvb-t' path=''
main debug: looking for access module: 1 candidate
bda debug: FindFilter: Connected Asicen_DM011 BDA Digital Tuner_0
bda debug: FindFilter: Connected Asicen_DM011 BDA Digital Capture_0
bda debug: FindFilter: Connected BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter
bda debug: Register: registered Graph: VLC BDA Graph 027748a8 Pid 00002138
main debug: using access module "bda"

Now you get this:
main debug: creating access 'dvb-t' path=''
main debug: looking for access module: 1 candidate
bda warning: FindFilter: No filter connected: hr=0x80004005
bda warning: Build: Cannot load tuner device and connect network provider: hr=0x80004005
bda warning: SubmitDVBTTuneRequest: Cannot Build the Graph: hr=0x80004005
bda warning: DVB_Open: Unsupported Network dvb-t
main warning: no access module matching "dvb-t" could be loaded

You can´t create the graph... Where are the filters (drivers)???
What you did??? Uninstalled the driver for usb tuner??? The tuner is conected?? (sorry for the stupid questions...)

Nope, didn't install any driver and yes, the usb is connected. but remember that the first time I did that I wasn't using any "special parameter". The second example was generated with those parameters (dvb-t:// frequency, etc)

It's nightly vlc as well.

Thank you.
